Hello, Classmates…
Just last week my good friend Charlene Eversole Carmichael and I made a return visit to the French Lick Resort. (I think it was visit #5.) The grounds of the West Baden Hotel where we stayed this time were snow-covered and dotted with thousands of deer tracks. We keep coming back here for our “chick trips” (Judy Kirchhoff Williams is usually with us.), because it is so beautiful and there are many different things to do. We keep the shuttle driver busy with our trips between the hotels and restaurants.
This visit included a trip to the spa and a couple of trips to the casino—I won this time! We also had lunch at the “Mansion,” the clubhouse for the new Pete Dye golf course. It is a beautiful old building that sits on top of a hill with a stunning view of 12 counties. The golf course is something to behold. No wonder the PGA is holding the US Open here in June. There are two other golf courses, both less expensive and not as difficult—thank goodness. Tom Jones, I am looking forward to that golf outing you are putting together for our 50th reunion.
No trip to French Lick would be complete without a visit to the buffet at the French Lick Hotel. It is by far the best I have ever experienced. Oh, I almost forgot the shopping. Ladies, there are about a dozen unique shops right on the grounds. We always hit those.
I am certainly looking forward to our 50th class reunion in September. I can’t imagine a nicer experience than reconnecting with all of you in French Lick’s delightful surroundings. Even my husband is looking forward to it! See you in September…
All the best,
Carole Wright Register
Classmates….We would like to begin to get an unofficial preliminary count of those intending to join us for the reunion in September. There is an easy location on the web site to let us know.
Just go to the Reunion Info tab and select Are You Coming?
...fill it in
Thanks & Regards…………….The Steering Committee
